Rusted Rhythms encourages participants to experiment. For its 26th installment, The Rust Music itself is stepping outside our comfort zone with this collection of upper bpm music from Philadelphia native and seasoned house producer/DJ Patrick Richards. Just in time for Halloween, this mix dives into danceable spooky darkness. Patrick Richards, whose real name is Patrick Monahan, is known regionally for energizing crowds with classic, uplifting house. He pulls from soul, funk and pop, grounds everything in an irresistible dance step and mixes it flawlessly. As such, this mix - full of deep techno, dark synthesizers, a bit of spacious breaks, and more tasty surprises - is a stylistic departure for Patrick Richards as well. He pulls it off with grace. There are some mystifying drops here that would turn a dancefloor upside down, and some pocket spaces that allow the mind to wander while the body buzzes back and forth on nimble feet.
